My Rig
At the heart of my setup is the reliable and powerful Kenwood TS-850S, a classic 100-watt HF transceiver. Renowned for its exceptional receive performance and robust build quality, the TS-850S is a favorite among amateur radio enthusiasts.
This rig covers all HF bands. Its advanced features, including a high dynamic range and superior noise reduction, ensure clear and consistent communication, even in challenging conditions. The intuitive interface and comprehensive control options make it a pleasure to operate, whether I’m tuning into a distant signal or engaging in a local QSO.
The second part is my dual-monitor computer setup that enables efficient operation of various digital communication modes. The left monitor displays software for decoding and managing digital signals, while the right monitor shows real-time mapping of active stations. This setup allows me to seamlessly monitor, decode, and respond to digital transmissions. My setup is optimized for a smooth and effective digital radio experience as all my logs are sent out to cloudlog and then to all the usual suspects QRZ, eQSL and all the rest. I have no worry about losing my log due to lack of backup.
